On 15-18 January 2018, on the request of the Delegation of the European Union in Armenia, the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Facility organized a training “EU Grants Procedures and Management, including Financial and Budgetary Questions” for 30 representatives of recently launched EU-funded projects in Armenia.

The projects’ representatives were introduced to the EU policies on civil society and participated in an intensive training on specific issues related to the implementation of EU-funded projects, including:

  • Approaches and tools for project design;
  • Problems and causes for unsuccessful projects;
  • Financial and contractual issues, including rules and procedures of sub-granting;
  • Practical work on logical frameworks and achievement indicators;
  • Monitoring, evaluation and project reporting.

In addition, the projects’ partners got a chance to get individual coaching from the key trainer, Mrs. Tanja Hafner Ademi, on issues relevant for their specific projects.

Shushan Doydoyan, Freedom of Information Center NGO, Armenia:

“We have 17 years of experience working with the international donors, but it’s the first time when our organisation is the lead applicant in one of the EU-funded winning projects. So, I really found this training extremely useful because the trainer could combine both theoretical and practical part, making concrete examples and going through concrete projects, which is very useful for CSOs.”
