Four Years in Four Minutes

31/03/2021

Isaac Asimov famously said that ‘It is change, continuing change, inevitable change, that is the dominant factor in society today. No sensible decision can be made any longer without taking into account not only the world as it is, but the world as it will be’. That change is the dominant factor in society today has become increasingly evident in the past years. And it is in this constantly evolving context that our project tried to support civil society in its quest for better polices and reforms in the Eastern Partnership region. It is in this context that we tried to support civil society to make decisions taking into account the world as it will be, not only the world as it is. We brought together thousands of beneficiaries and stakeholders around diverse activities. We organised annual hackathons, brought together the civic tech communities of these countries, and supported the development of several digital tools for citizens. We produced tailor-made online courses and webinars on complex and sensitive issues such as the potential role of civil society in the energy sector. We promoted the good work of civil society actors, highlighting among other things the fast response and capacity of organisations and people to adapt in a crisis situation such as the current pandemic. We identified and supported the work and professional development of ambitious, high-potential, forward-thinking civil society activists through our now popular fellowship programme. But now our project is coming to an end and it is time to look back at our main results and achievements. Our short final video sums up four years of hard work in four minutes. Have a look!
